Super Bowl XLIX: Huge brawl breaks out after Malcolm Butler intercept to deny Seahawks

SEATTLE Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin became the first player in Super Bowl history to be ejected after instigating an ugly fight with 18 seconds remaining in the game.

SEATTLE Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin became the first player in Super Bowl history to be ejected after instigating an ugly fight with 18 seconds remaining in the game.

Tensions boiled over after the New England Patriots kneeled the ball late in the fourth quarter while clinging to a four-point lead. Several Seattle players, Irvin included, shoved through the line.

Words were exchanged, then punches.

The Patriots survived the fight and the frantic final minutes to emerge 28-24 winners and secure quarterback Tom Brady his fourth Super Bowl win.
