The apparent mastermind behind the Chiefs’ magical 13-second drive to tie the Bills in regulation time late in Monday’s astonishing NFL playoffs thriller? Travis Kelce.

The New York Post reports NFL Films and “Inside the NFL” had the Kansas City tight end mic’d up for the match, and footage from the closing stages of the elimination game is simply remarkable.

Both quarterbacks put on an absolute clinic as the game went down to wire in the fourth quarter in an insane few minutes of football. It appeared the Chiefs were headed for victory, only for Buffalo play-caller Josh Allen to find Gabriel Davis in the end zone for his fourth touchdown to give Buffalo a 36-33 lead.

After the Bills added the extra two points, the Chiefs had just 13 seconds to try and move their way down the field to get within realistic field goal territory.

Before the now-famous 13-second drive began, new footage shows Kelce telling wide receiver Tyreek Hill to run an outside route then come back in, so Kelce could set a block for him on Bills defenders.

Hill picked up 19 yards in a five-second play, and the Chiefs called time-out.

Then, Kelce told Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes the “seam” between the defensive team’s coverage was open. He caught a pass, ran down the middle and picked up 25 more incredibly valuable yards.

Another time-out was called and in came Harrison Butker to hit a 49-yard field goal to tie the game.

In overtime, the Bills would never touch the ball. The Chiefs ran an eight-play, 75-yard drive to seal a thrilling 42-36 victory and move on to host the AFC championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
