Gisele Bündchen appears to have changed her approach in her split with NFL icon Tom Brady with an eye-catching Instagram response.

While he’s throwing footballs, she’s throwing shade.

Gisele Bündchen seemed to very publicly hint at her ongoing marital strife with Tom Brady via a telling Instagram comment.

The New York Post reports author and former Hindu monk Jay Shetty took to social media on Wednesday (AEDT) to share some wise words, posting a quote that read, “You can’t be in a committed relationship with someone who is inconsistent with you. Read that again.”

Shetty, 35, added in the caption of the post: “Love is a daily effort. Some days it may come easier than others and that’s OK, but what should always stay consistent is the respect and admiration you have for your partner’s values and goals.”

Bündchen, 42, both “liked” and took to the comments section of the post, dropping a simple praying hands emoji, signalling she agreed with the life coach’s message about a partner’s values.

Page Six exclusively reported last week that both Bündchen and Brady, 45, have hired divorce lawyers as their 13-year marriage falls apart.

Multiple sources said in September that the former Victoria’s Secret Angel and the NFL star had an epic fight over his unwillingness to give up his football career despite a brief retirement earlier this year.

“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids,” one insider said, adding, “They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”

Other sources have said it’s too little, too late as the relationship is beyond repair.

“[Gisele] is done with their marriage,” an insider told People last week. “She was upset about it for a long time, and it’s still difficult, but she feels like she needs to move on. She doesn’t believe that her marriage can be repaired.”

The source added that Bündchen is “doing OK” and has not had much contact with Brady.

“She is just trying to figure out her life,” the insider said.

Brady and Bündchen, who have been living separately, share son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9. Brady also has a 15-year-old son, Jack, with his ex Bridget Moynahan.

Bündchen has touched on her marital issues openly, admitting in her September Elle cover story, “My children and I would like [Tom] to be more present.”

She added she has “definitely had those conversations with him over and over again.”

However, Brady has claimed that his family is just as much of a priority as football.

The quarterback and his wife tied the knot in February 2009.

Brady this week admitted he’s been struggling.

During the latest episode of his SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go!”, the Buccaneers quarterback got candid about the stresses he has in his life amid divorce rumours.

“Everyone has different situations, you know, in their life and children and, you know, you worry about their mental health,” Brady said when co-host Jim Gray asked how the quarterback takes care of his own mental health.

“You worry about your parents, obviously yourself. You know, I think I’ve had to learn a lot of things over a long period of time in sports.

“I think there’s an intense amount of stress that we all deal with, and how do you relieve stress so that you’re not inflicting so much damage on yourself through kind of stress response?”

Brady shared that he’s been working on his physical and mental therapy over the years to take care of his body and his mind.
