‘Special’: Bronny James hype in overdrive after LeBron tweet

The teenage son of arguably the greatest player of all time is making his mark on the game and putting NBA teams on notice.

Bronny James’ game continues to rise as the son of LeBron James makes his mark on the basketball world.

In the shadow of arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, the spotlight is impossible to avoid.

Along with that comes the expectation to be just as good on the hardwood as his father has been over an absurd 20-year NBA career.

While replicating his father’s historic feats is an extremely heavy burden to lump onto a teenager, the youngster is showing he will be a special talent in the years to come.

As the 2024 NBA Draft continues to draw closer, the eldest son of the living legend is being hyped up and climbing up draft boards with his on-court feats.

Playing for Sierra Canyon the teen has been working on and crafting his game and on Friday he showed off his offensive prowess.

With his old man sitting in the front row, Bronny dropped 21 points as he led his high school side to the 61-55 victory over Etiwanda in a regional quarterfinal contest.

LeBron couldn’t have been more hyped after the match as he praised the special talent his son is growing into.

Currently standing 18cm shorter than his father as a 188cm guard, Bronny has soared up draft rankings in recent months as his game continues to evolve.

ESPN’s latest mock draft for the 2024 Draft, when Bronny becomes eligible to enter the NBA, has him sitting as the 10th pick.

His draft position could be pushed higher because of a revelation LeBron made about wanting to play with his son. If you get Bronny, you might get the GOAT too.

“I need to be on the floor with my boy,” LeBron told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin for a piece on NBA Today. “I gotta be on the floor with Bronny.”

Those remarks will ensure a mad scramble ahead of next years draft and while it may not be on the same level as Victor Wembenyama, if team’s know they can draft Bronny and nab LeBron via trade … you have to throw everything at it.

LeBron has endured a nightmare time at the Los Angeles Lakers over the past two seasons after they won the championship during the 2019/20 season.

They were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs the following season before missing the playoffs entirely last season.

Currently sidelined with a foot injury, the Lakers are sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference, one game out of a play-in spot.

If the nightmare runs continue, LeBron’s time in LA could end in brutal fashion as he walks out and joins his son wherever he may end up.

Prior to being struck down with injury, LeBron looked as good as he ever has which is wild to say considering it’s his 20th season in the league.

If he can stick it out for another two seasons he and Bronny will enter the record books as the first ever father-son duo to take the court.
