Phoenix Suns vs L.A. Clippers: Star ejected in total brainfade

A Clippers star had a moment of madness that almost sparked an all-in brawl, as the Suns booked their spot in the NBA Finals in a comfortable win.

Phoenix Suns’ Chris Paul achieved a monumental career-first as the Phoenix Suns returned to the NBA Finals for the first time in 28 years.

Paul put up 41 points as the Suns romped to a 130-103 over the Clippers, ending the LA side’s attempt to make the finals for the first time in franchise history.

For the Suns’ 36-year-old guard, it will be his first ever trip to the finals.

When asked how it felt to be only four games away from winning the Larry O’Brien trophy, Paul could do little to contain his excitement.

“It sounds damn good, damn good,” Paul said.

“It’s been a lot of work going to a new team and everyone staying the course. That team fights hard. Damn this feels good.

“I wish my son and my family could come down here. There’s a lot of emotions.

“There were a lot of injuries, I was getting an MRI yesterday on my wrist. There was a lot of s*** going on.

“I’m sorry, I just wanna get over there with my team right now. Respect.”

Paul was the subject of a total brain snap from the Clippers’ Patrick Beverley.

With just under six minutes left on the clock and the Clippers all but finished, Beverley decided it would be a good idea to shove Paul from behind and send him to the floor.

Beverley’s action sparked a small fracas as players from both teams rushed towards him.

He was promptly ejected from the game, and with that, the Clippers meandered towards the final buzzer.

Beverley being sent to the locker room wasn’t the only concerning aspect of the night — other than the loss, of course.

Steve Ballmer, the owner of the Clippers, was filmed on TV getting very, erm, excited about his team.

The former Microsoft CEO was depicted slamming his hand on the legs of two guests next to him in rather strange fashion, and then proceeded to rub their legs up and down.
