No one is safe as Draymond Green drops live TV bombs in Warriors’ parade

The NBA wasn’t ready for Draymond Green’s live TV antics as the Warriors cult hero went full terminator during his team’s championship parade.

The NBA wasn’t ready for Draymond Green.

The Warriors cult hero was feeling untouchable during the Warriors’ wild championship parade through San Francisco on Tuesday morning — and it showed in his live TV interviews.

Tens of thousands of fans poured onto the streets to salute Golden State with an open-top bus parade as the team celebrated its fourth NBA championship in eight seasons.

A blizzard of blue and gold confetti covered the streets as the party continued for the Warriors, who have been partying hard following their title-clinching win against the Celtics in Boston, to close out a 4-2 series.

Nobody seems to be enjoying the party as much as Green.

During the on-stage presentations he was seen heckling teammate Klay Thompson as the star shooter spoke to fans.

He was even more dangerous with a microphone in hand.

When he was given the floor to speak, the master of ceremonies said: “Everyone’s nervous right now”.

Green responded: “I’m just trying to think of the most controversial thing I can say.

“I don’t know what you want me to say. That we’re better than everybody? I can do that.”

He finished his brief talk at the microphone stand by saying: “I just want to say thankyou all. And as always, f*** everyone else”.

He followed it up with absolutely no chill in his live TV interviews.

On NBA TV he even checked with broadcasters if he was live on air before he continued dropping bombs.

“If they ever doubted us – this is live TV right? – f*** ‘em,” he said.

He had his own mum dropping bombs in another TV interview.

“That’s what we do, we win. Winners win,” he said.

“They’ll never understand it. They’ll try and quantify it. Y’all try and make it about points, but winners win. That’s what we do.”

The poor interviewer then asked: “Anything else you want to say”.

Green responded: “I said it all. Shut up. That’s what I said. Hey everybody, shut up.

“You know what you have to do? Shut up. That’s what you have to do. We drinking Lobos and we telling y’all to shut up.”

He then held up a bottle of the Lobos tequila to the camera just to reinforce his point.

His mum then chimed in when the microphone was put in front of her.

“I got one thing to say. Shut up,” she said with a cackle.

He was only serious for a moment as he paid tribute to his teammates and the rest of the staff that made the win possible.

“This has been an amazing year,” Green said. “I told you no one could stop us from winning a championship. I warned you all.

“I really love this group, and when I say this group, I mean this entire group.

“There were times in the past when we won a championship and everything didn’t have to be aligned, like we were just that good.

“But for this to work, every single person up here had to be aligned. It’s just so special.”

The victory completed a triumphant return to the pinnacle of the sport just two years after the Warriors finished the 2019-2020 season with the worst record in basketball.

Warriors talisman Stephen Curry — wearing a gold chain carrying his collection of NBA championship rings — led the festivities as Golden State players sprayed hordes of fans with champagne in brilliant sunshine.

“I had to bring the jewellery back out,” Curry said of his ring-laden necklace.

“I don’t look at it during the year. Every so often though you gotta remind yourself — we got four!”

Warriors coach Steve Kerr meanwhile revealed he had been inundated with messages of congratulations ranging from fellow NBA coaches such as Gregg Popovich to former president Barack Obama.

“I got a text from president Obama, which was pretty cool. That was pretty special,” Kerr said.

“This is incredible. When we started camp I thought we would be pretty good but I didn’t know we could win the whole thing.

“To be sitting here enjoying the parade and feeling the love of the whole Bay Area is pretty incredible.”
