Ben Simmons’ Wimbledon PDA confirms new relationship with Maya Jama

Ben Simmons’ on-court performances may have fallen flat in the NBA Playoffs but the Aussie appears to be on fire away from the court.

Ben Simmons’ NBA Playoffs campaign ended in disaster with the Philadelphia 76ers but he’s having no such problems off the court.

The 24-year-old Aussie went public at Wimbledon with his new flame, 26-year-old BBC television and radio presenter Maya Jama.

Jama has had plenty of different roles on British TV and is currently the host of reality show Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star as well as being a celebrity guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. She also has a fashion line and range of skincare masks.

Sitting courtside for Novak Djokovic’s straight sets demolition of Chilean 17th seed Cristian Garin in the fourth round at the All England Club, Simmons and Jama set tongues wagging, not shy of some public displays of affection in the stands.

They had sparked relationship speculation a fortnight ago after they were spotted at London restaurant Sexy Fish before leaving in the same car.

Simmons seemed to be trying to keep a low profile in the NBA off-season after the Sixers’ devastating defeat to Atlanta in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. He featured in Jama’s Instagram Stories, but refused to show his face.

Images of the duo canoodling at Wimbledon show Simmons has moved on from his last high profile relationship.

The three-time All-Star’s dating life has made headlines previously, particularly his on-again, off-again relationship with model Kendall Jenner.

Jenner is now dating Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, with the pair having reportedly been together for more than a year.

News of Simmons’ new romance comes at a time where his NBA stock has never been lower, as he copped much of the blame for the 76ers’ Playoffs implosion.

He shot only 34.2 per cent from the free-throw line in the postseason and now owns the record for the lowest playoff free-throw percentage in NBA history for a player with 70 attempts.

Simmons also let his team down by only scoring only five points in a crucial Game 7 loss to the Hawks.

Trade rumours surrounding the Philly star have been flying around since Simmons’ agent, and CEO of Klutch Sports, Rich Paul met with the 76ers’ top brass at the NBA Combine to discuss trade possibilities.

However, it may be difficult for the 76ers to get the right trade for the 2016 first-overall draft pick. After a horrendous postseason, Simmons’ trade value is at an all-time low.
