Bad bet: NBA rookie’s WAG becomes prom date

A DETROIT high school senior won a prom date with an NBA rookie’s gorgeous girlfriend — and he didn’t even have to look up from his phone.

It started Wednesday when a female high-schooler asked Kings guard Nik Stauskas on Twitter how many retweets it would take for him to join her at prom. He said 1,000. Stauskas’ gal pal Taylor Anderson got involved. Then brave Jaime Guerra of Woodhaven High School chimed in — with a blushing emoji, for polite measure — and the stakes got raised.

Jaime was supposed to have until Friday at midnight to hit his mark. Way too much time! Backed by the viral powers of social media — with an assist from Pistons guard Spencer Dinwiddie’s retweet — Guerra hit his mark in a matter of hours.

Stauskas, who was a college star at Michigan, said he would attend (to supervise?) with Anderson, who had asked Guerra for a full-on “promposal” to back up his Twitter invite.

Here’s a glimpse at what Guerra and the rest of Woodhaven’s lucky senior class have to look forward to, you know, apart from the NBA shooting guard who’s going to wander into their gym.
