Jarryd Hayne reveals how he deals with pressure in Twitter interview
49ERS star Jarryd Hayne has revealed the unique way he deals with the pressure of being an Aussie trailblazer without a safety net.
JARRYD Hayne has been super busy in the lead up to the 49ers season finale against St Louis on Monday morning.
Fresh from his first starting debut last week, Hayne will suit up again against the Rams and has been front and centre in the 49ers’ media schedule this week.
The 27-year-old Aussie’s position in the team was a hot topic during coach Jim Tomsula’s press briefing this week and was again discussed during offensive co-ordinator Geep Chryst’s media opportunity on Friday morning AEDT.
After that Hayne featured in a “Meet the Niners” video on the team’s official website and held a Q+A with fans on Twitter.
Hayne was asked about his Christian faith several times in the public forum and declared it is the main reason he is able to deal with the pressure of being a guinea pig experiment with two countries watching his every move.
When asked how he deals with the hype, Hayne replied on the 49ers’ official Twitter account to say he has a very grounded mindset.
My mindset is biblical, that's the easiest way to describe it. It helps me to stay focused. #MeetTheNiners https://t.co/b16FwRW0y8

Hayne also has a bible verse listed on his Twitter account.
The Proverbs chapter 27 verse 17 line says: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”.
He described it today as the verse that he best relates to.
My favorite verse is Proverbs 27:17 it relates to both being an athlete and a person. #MeetTheNiners https://t.co/IgUgpBYUuC

Hayne will return to Australia next week after his team’s final game of the season and it can’t come soon enough for the Niners’ No. 38.
Hayne says a good solid Aussie breakfast is the thing he has missed most about his year in San Francisco.
Probably breakfast and brunch. That's the number one thing I miss is the big Australian breakfasts. #MeetTheNiners https://t.co/pzuwK6D7n0

Clearly in a warm mood to be wrapping up a rollercoaster first season in the NFL, Hayne was also happy to have a laugh with some fans.
We always get asked corny questions. https://t.co/t539z4St1Z

Hayne has had to endure many critics on his NFL journey, but there’s one he truly listens to — his Nan.
The Sydney-raised running back in recent weeks has been growing a hipster beard, which might be in vogue with many American sports stars, but not with his beloved Nan.
“I shaved the beard last night,” Hayne giggles on Friday AEDT.
“I was going to do it when I got home, but I thought I’d get rid of it.
“My Nan hates it so it was pretty funny.
“I spoke to her at Christmas and she wasn’t too impressed.”
Hayne is expected to play another major role for the 49ers at running back when the team plays its final game of the season against the St Louis Rams on Sunday (Monday 8.30am AEDT).
In the short term he can’t wait to get back to the Australian summer, swimming at the beach and catching up with friends and family.
He’ll also drink plenty of coffee in Sydney, something he has struggled to find in the US to satisfy his high standards.
“Definitely coffee for sure,” Hayne said when asked what the first thing he’ll do when he touches down in Sydney.
“That’s on the menu.
“I could be in hospital overdosing on caffeine I think.”
