Aussie NBA No. 1 draft pick prospect’s half court shot video
WE GET it. You’re a freak. Australia’s greatest basketball prospect Ben Simmons has released a video that adds to the hype he’s going to be the NBA’s next big thing.
IT’S not difficult to see why Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James like hanging out with Aussie basketballer Ben Simmons.
The 19-year-old, who grew up in Newcastle and Melbourne, is considered the likely No. 1 draft pick at next year’s NBA draft.
It’s because of things like this.
The Louisiana State University star posted the half-court shot video on his Instagram account Saturday morning.
In a couple hours it already had 5,600 likes - I guess that’s what happens when you have more than 103,000 followers.
The 2.08m LSU freshman power forward is expected to dominate College NCAA Division 1 basketball this year.
Last year he was named the best high-school player in the United States.
The hype surrounding Simmons couldn’t possibly get any bigger.
We’re guessing it’s because of things like this, which he also posted on his Instagram account on Saturday morning.
Shaq last year described Simmons as the “best player in the world” when his former College LSU announced Simmons had decided to go to school there.
It’s why Shaq returned to LSU on Saturday to see how the new-look LSU team is preparing for the upcoming season.
Simmons posted a photo of him and the man known as The Big Diesel on Instagram with the caption: “CANNN YOU DIGGG IT!!!!”.
Simmons is the son of former Melbourne Tigers American import Dave Simmons, whose NBL career stretched from 1989 to 2001.
Ben Simmons’ College ball career begins on November 13 when LSU face McNeese State.
