JOSH Kennedy will make his long-awaited return for West Coast in Saturday night's clash with Collingwood at Paterson Stadium.

The full-forward will play his first AFL game since Round 5 after overcoming an ankle injury that cruelled his 2012 campaign.

Defender Sam Butler and midfielder Matt Rosa also bolster the Eagles side, with Ashton Hams, Jacob Brennan and Bradd Dalziell all omitted.

Collingwood enters the Subiaco clash without two of its most important players, losing skipper Nick Maxwell (groin) and ruckman Darren Jolly (soreness) to injury.

Jamie Elliott, Caolan Mooney and Marty Clarke were also listed as outs. Cameron Wood will shoulder the ruck load, while Dane Swan, Tyson Goldsack, Alan Toovey and Ben Johnson also return.

Meanwhile, Fremantle has named an unchanged squad to take on North Melbourne in its crunch game on Sunday, with Zac Clarke, Dylan Roberton and Cam Sutcliffe added to a 25-man squad.

Tagger Ryan Crowley has also been named despite suffering an ankle injury at training yesterday.

Hawthorn regained Josh Gibson, Lance Franklin and Sam Mitchell ahead of its crunch clash with Sydney at the MCG.

The Hawks dropped Stephen Gilham, Chance Bateman and Shane Savage to fit their stars in - with Alastair Clarkson now boasting his best side sans Cyril Rioli.

Geelong will rest captain Joel Selwood from Sunday's low-key match against the Western Bulldogs, but Travis Varcoe was named on an extended bench in his bid to play his first match for the season.

Varcoe dominated in his VFL return from a foot injury last week, gathering 22 disposals.
