Intimate photos of Wayne Carey with a new woman have ended months of swirling rumours about the footballer’s private life.

Wayne Carey has a new woman in his life and it’s now Instagram official.

After months of rumours, the former North Melbourne forward and love interest Catie O’Neill have gone public via an Instagram story.

In a photo shared on the 28-year-old TikTok star’s page, the businesswoman appeared with a glass of wine in one hand while resting on the famous footballer.

O’Neill has co-founded two beauty brands, MyGlow2 and Huxden, a skincare line for men.

The pair were first spotted together in Bundalong, where Carey was at an event to raise funds for “Outside the Locker Room”, a mental health education initiative.

They were also seen in Bali together, and with O’Neill keeping an active social media presence, look set to be seen together more often going forward.

The 51-year-old has kept a low public profile since last September, when he was evicted from Perth Crown casino after a bag of white powder was dropped on the gaming floor.

Carey considered legal action, engaging high profile solicitor Josh Bornstein, who also represented Essendon in their challenge to ASADA’s investigation of the supplements saga.

“Mr Carey was ejected after Casino authorities saw a bag containing a white substance and despite Mr Carey’s denial made an incorrect assumption that the bag contained an illegal drug,” Bornstein said in a statement.

“Mr Carey is prescribed anti-inflammatories and painkilling medicine to help manage the significant pain caused by debilitating football injuries - including a shoulder that needs replacing and a neck injury that requires three discs to be replaced,” he said.

The scandal resulted in Carey being stood down from his roles as a commentator with Channel 7, as well as roles with Triple M and writing commitments with The Age.

Catie O'Neill is a prominent Melbourne entrepreneur.

Carey was banned for two years from Crown’s various casino complexes.

Carey split from ex-wife Sally in 2006. The pair share daughter, Ella, born six weeks after the split was announced.

Carey then began dating former model Kate Neilson.

He then became engaged to Stephanie Edwards in 2015, but separated a year later.

The pair have a daughter, Charlotte.

He also has a son, Carter, with model Jessica Paulke, with whom he split from in 2019 after dating for a year.

He played 272 games in the AFL, kicking 727 goals and is a seven-time All-Australian.
