Well, it’s fair to say Collingwood players heard Ed Langdon’s “all duck, no dinner” comments during the week.

Langdon raised eyebrows with a comment this week that the Magpies, despite their 10-match win streak, were “a bit of a one-trick pony” in the way they play.

In the opening few seconds of the match at the MCG, Langdon picked up a loose ball and was booed by Collingwood fans before being swarmed by several Pies players.

“There’s his duck dinner, right there,” commentator Brian Taylor said on Channel Seven.

“They have got him and they’ve given him chopped duck!”

Collingwood coach Craig McRae admitted pre-game on Fox Footy he had heard Langdon’s comments and would use them in his pre-game address.

“We’re about to have a meeting and I’ll definitely mention it,” he said.

“I think modern sport is around trying to find little edges and we want to make sure our players are motivated and inspired. Some are inspired by different things.”
