Taylor Walker responds to Kane Cornes’ body-shaming remarks
AFL personality Kane Cornes attempted to mock Taylor Walker’s figure on the weekend, and the Adelaide Crows star was not impressed with the remarks.
Adelaide Crows star Taylor Walker has bitterly responded to rival Kane Cornes’ attempt to mock his figure on the weekend.
Cornes took a cheeky shot at Adelaide Crows star Taylor Walker on The Sunday Footy Show, comparing shirtless photos of Walker and Port Adelaide’s Charlie Dixon.
The 37-year-old asked, “Who would you rather playing centre half forward this season — Taylor Walker or Charlie Dixon?”
His fellow panellists guffawed at the insinuation but Cornes wasn’t done there.
“Have a look at that,” he said to a the panel. “What has Tex been doing?”
However, the rest of the panellists defend Walker, arguing that the state of their rigs doesn’t have a correlation to how they’re going to play and that he was just having a bit of fun.
“He bloated his stomach out in that Instagram post, it must be said,” Essendon great Matthew Lloyd said.
“You know what we’ll do Kane? We’ll wait and see, because I remember people used to be critical of Dane Swan at times but you get him out on a footy field … I know there’s some blokes who are cut like greyhounds and they couldn’t get a kick.”
Although it was pretty clear that Walker was puffing his stomach out, Cornes said it showed who had been doing their work during the time off.
“These are professional athletes, you can’t let those sorts of standards slip through,” Cornes said.
But he realised the jig was up and admitted, “I was having a bit of fun, but we can tell who’s been training in this period”.
However, Walker was less than impressed with the segment. Speaking on Triple M Adelaide, the former Adelaide captain slammed Cornes’ “sad” remarks.
“To be honest mate, I find it quite sad and I pity for the bloke that he’s just trying to stay relevant this whole time,” Walker said on Tuesday.
“Honestly, it’s getting a bit of a joke that he continually has a personal pot shot at me.
“I’ve let it go, but he continues to try and stay relevant.
“So if that’s what he wants to he can do that.”

The duo have been bitter rivals for a while. Last month, Cornes threatened to “out” an AFL player who had been abusing him through text messages as their messages were not coming through anonymously.
But in response to the post, Walker took aim with a bitter response to the story, telling Cornes to “Grow up and stop sooking”.
