The Hollywood star has revealed the famous Aussie men who offered to “welcome” her “in a big way”.

Sydney Sweeney has confessed that some Aussie stars were very quick to slide into her DMs after she visited Down Under.

Sweeney was in Australia earlier this year to film her new comedy film Anyone But You with actor Glen Powell.

During her time in the country, Sweeney paid a visit to an AFL game where she watched the Sydney Swans show off on the pitch.

The actress revealed on Thursday’s episode of The Project that after meeting all the players, some of them were very eager to spend some alone time with her.

“I had a lot of questions. Physical of all, why are the shorts so short?” she joked before going on to share that she had a “blast” at the stadium: “I had a blast. I got to meet everybody. I want to go back.”

Her co-star, Powell, then chimed in and cheekily added that the “entire team” seemed pretty taken by the actress.

“Well, they had a good time meeting Sydney as well,” he laughed, before teasing that her DMs quickly blew up after Sweeney headed back to her hotel. “The whole team slid into her DMs it was … Australia wanted to welcome her to town … very fast.”

Nodding in agreement, Sweeney giggled with her co-star, adding: “Yeah … in a very big way.”

During the interview, the actors were also questioned about their least favourite thing about filming in Australia, and they were both quick to agree that they wished they’d filmed one particular scene “where the water was warm”.

“Actually, all of the scenes. They were freezing,” Sweeney said.

“We shot all the water scenes to begin the movie, when it was freezing,” Powell said, despite the fact filming took place in the warmer February and March months.

“And then we shot all the sand scenes when it was the hottest,” he said, with his co-star agreeing, noting no none in the production was able to stand on the sand due to the heat.

It comes after Powell revealed this week that he “almost died” while filming in the Australian outback while he had his briefs around his ankles.

While chatting on the red carpet, Powell discussed a scene in which Sweeney’s character has to take a spider out of his shorts – he ends up getting naked as a result.

However, things didn’t quite go to plan. While Australia is famous for its dangerous wildlife, Powell’s clumsiness turned out to be the bigger threat to his life.

The actor told Variety he took his pants off “too fast” in the scene and lost his balance, almost tumbling off the cliff stark naked.

“Taking your clothes off on the side of a cliff in a hurry is not safe,” Powell confessed. “Nobody talks about that safety issue on set, where I almost died falling off a cliff taking my pants off too fast. But it’s a really fun scene, so it was all worth it.”
