Adelaide’s away record remains the side’s achilles heel.

And it will cost the Crows a long-awaited return to finals this year unless the club can start winning on the road.

Sunday’s 18-point defeat to Essendon at Marvel Stadium left Adelaide with a 1-6 win-loss record outside of SA in 2023.

The Crows’ sole away victory so far this season was against Hawthorn in Launceston by three points in round 6.

Its road losses have been to: GWS in Sydney (16 points), Geelong at GMHBA Stadium (26 points), Western Bulldogs in Ballarat (45 points), Gold Coast in Darwin (25 points), Collingwood at the MCG (two points) and Essendon at Marvel Stadium (18 points).

Champion Data SuperCoach points provide an insight into which Crows are struggling on the road compared to at Adelaide Oval, where the team is 7-2 this season.

The players with the biggest discrepancies between their home and away ranking points are: Riley Thilthorpe (-37 per cent), Izak Rankine (-28 per cent), Lachlan Murphy (-28 per cent), Nick Murray (-28 per cent), Lachlan Sholl (-26 per cent) and Josh Rachele (-20 per cent).
