Sleep-deprived star shines as captain reveals ‘best on ground’ at Lions’ Mad Monday
Less than 48 hours after their grand final triumph, the Brisbane Lions have rocked some hilarious Mad Monday efforts.
The Brisbane Lions have come into their 2024 Mad Monday celebrations on a heater, just less than 48 hours after winning their first premiership in 21 years.
Co-captain Harris Andrews led the charge facing the media after their 10-goal win over Sydney, using a voice that had clearly been doing plenty of singing and speaking since his maiden AFL flag.

“Yeah, we’re having some good fun – the boys are getting around it (the celebrations). Best-and-fairest on Thursday night, so very exciting,” Andrews told journalists outside the Boundary Hotel in Brisbane’s West End.
When asked who his tip was for the ‘best on ground’ tag in the celebrations, the two-time All-Australian looked over both shoulders – funnily insinuating it could be him – before giving a midfield teammate the all-important label.
“Not me – Jarrod Berry, (he’s) right up there,” Andrews replied.
Dual premiership player Josh Dunkley – like many of his teammates – has rightly been short on sleep the last two night, as celebrations continued.
“Combined over the couple of nights, probably about six hours,” Dunkley admitted.
Among the costumes, Andrews came as a child that had been abducted by an alien, Reece Torrent and Luke Lloyd were Mario and Luigi, while Henry Smith and Carter Michael arrived as the Bananas in Pyjamas.
Rick and Morty, Spider-Man and Walter White from Breaking Bad also turned up.
