RICHMOND has been dealt a blow with Jake King subbed out of its match with Adelaide with a serious knee injury.
King hyper-extended his knee in a 50/50 contest with Adelaide defender Ben Rutten late in the second quarter.
Charged with adrenalin, he returned to his feet only to see off the ball over the boundary line before wincing with pain.
King was subbed off at halftime along with Crow skipper Nathan van Berlo (concussion).
The 28-year-old missed several weeks earlier in the year after he re-aggravated a posterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in 2009.
