The camera switches to another angle showing children playing basketball in the back yard, listening to the disgusting slurs.

The Indigenous AFL legend posted the video on social media on Thursday night.

“Aboriginal kids deserve to be able to play safely, free from racism and abuse over the fence,” the caption read.

“We are not even safe in our own homes. If you know who this is please let me them know that I’m open to having a chat about how much this hurts our kids.”

The AFL world reacted quickly, taking to the comments to condemn the horrific attack.

The Western Bulldogs account posted: “Disgraceful. Sending love Eddie.”

West Coast’s Liam Ryan commented: “That’s eff’d up my bro.”

Melbourne’s Christian Petracca added: “Disgusting!!! Thinking of you and the family.”

Carlton’s Marc Murphy called the driver “weak as piss scum”.

Comedian Nazeem Hussain wrote: “Wow bro. Disgusting. Your compassion and patience are on a superhero level. Love you.”

Shaun Burgoyne, Steven May, Kysaiah Pickett and Bradley Hill among others also shared their anger and heartbreak using emojis.

Another fan posted: “The footage Eddie Betts shared of his kids getting racially abused by cowardly adults is sickening. Seriously what the f**k is wrong with people? They were playing basketball and have to cop that.”

Another tweeted: “That video Eddie Betts posted on his Instagram tonight, has left me speechless and heartbroken.”

Betts, who himself was racially abused during his football career, has spoken powerfully many times in the past about racism scandals surrounding the AFL.

Last year he called for action on the racial abuse of players over incidents both at games and online.

“When I saw what happened over the weekend, it was hard to see, and my love goes out to those boys and they’re families,” he told Fox Footy at the time.

“Enough is enough. When are we going to see a stance?

“It’s going to keep happening. It felt like it was a targeted attack.”

Betts said action required everyone calling out anyone who racially vilified a player, but feared it would be hard to stamp out.

“They don’t like Aboriginal people standing up for what they believe in and trying to stamp out racism. It feels like they want to put us back down in our boxes where they think we belong,” Betts said.

“Everyone else needs to do their part and continue to talk and continue to educate and continue to have those conversations.

“Look at (Adam Goodes). He called out racism and it kept happening to him, and people were jumping on board even thought they didn‘t know what was going.

“It is disappointing to see. We just have to continue to keep educating.

“We’re seeing change, but it’s always going to happen.”
