He hasn’t played an AFL game for four years, but North Melbourne legend Brent Harvey looks as though he’s ready for a comeback.

The four-time All-Australian featured in the Good Friday Appeal at Marvel Stadium, taking part in a halftime challenge against former Western Bulldogs star Brad Johnson.

The pair competed in Kick for the Kids, where each goal they mustered added $3000 to a donation tally for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

But the focus quickly shifted to Harvey’s impressive physique, the former Kangaroos captain’s muscles bulging in the North Melbourne guernsey.

As Harvey was introduced on the Channel 7 coverage, Johnson laughed: “How good does he look?”

Bulldogs great Luke Darcy queried: “Boomer, you’re in better nick than when you played, what’s going on mate?”

Harvey replied with a smirk: “COVID was good to me. I just trained a couple of times a day.”

After missing his first three kicks at goal, Harvey rediscovered his mojo to slot a major from directly in front.

The five-time Kangaroos best and fairest winner kicked 518 goals for North Melbourne in a stellar 21-year AFL career.

He holds the all-time record for most AFL games and was named in North Melbourne’s Team of the Century.

Since his retirement in 2016, Harvey has served as a player-coach for the North Heidelberg Football Club.

North Melbourne certainly could have used Harvey’s talents on Friday afternoon, with the club suffering a humiliating 25.17 (167) to 5.9 (39) defeat.
