MICHAEL Voss and Guy McKenna would have shared a nightmare all week and will now confront the same problem today - how to stop Riewoldt.

Saints skipper Nick and Tigers star Jack are in Queensland on the same weekend for the first time.

Each holds the key to their side's fortunes, especially as defence is a problem area for the Lions and Suns.

They are both genuine superstars but which one is best? For mine, Nick - but Tiger Jack is not far off.

Veteran VFL-AFL scribe Mike Sheahan and VFL Legend Peter Hudson are two who believe the younger Riewoldt has already gone past his cousin.

Jack is probably the better natural footballer, his contested marking is a little stronger and he is a far better kick. He is also a more instinctive player capable of kicking miracle goals.

But Nick is a workhorse.

He is always a chance of influencing a game because he never stops presenting. The guy epitomises why our game is better live than on TV.

St Kilda's midfielders always know they have a target who will provide a contest because Nick demands the footy. When his side is trapped in the defensive 50, he pushes hard up the ground to provide an outlet.

Then he sprints back towards goal to try to take a grab within scoring range. His running is phenomenal as his courage and his marking is very good. But his kicking can let him down. Often it is probably due to exhaustion.

The Tigers want Jack to be more like Nick and get more touches up the ground but he is far more valuable to them near the goals. The Saints probably wish Nick took more marks 25m out and kicked more goals.

Five best-and-fairests and four All Australian selections ensure Nick is a future AFL Hall of Famer and demands top billing over his cousin for now.

But he has yet to dominate a grand final and may have run out of chances.

Nick's relentless effort drags his side to the finals year after year which underlines his greatness.

But if Jack gets to a grand final, he is the type who could win you one because he makes the most of limited opportunities by taking contested marks and kicking goals.
