Melbourne’s touching moment for Brad Green and his two sons
Just days after farewelling their mother, Brad Green’s two sons were back at the MCG in a brilliant moment from his former club.
The football community was left reeling following the shock death of Anna Green, wife of former Melbourne skipper Brad Green, earlier in the month.
Anna’s funeral was held at the MCG on Thursday as hundreds of family and friends, including many football identities, packed the Members Dining Room.
Days after farewelling their mother, Oliver and Wilba Green were back at the MCG but this time with smiles on their faces.
The two young boys accompanied the Melbourne Football Club and ran out onto the crowd ahead of their showdown with Collingwood.

“Today is a great example of what football clubs are about,” Richmond star Jack Riewoldt said on Fox Footy.
“It just shows that footy is such a great vehicle for families to go through hardship and be supported by teammates, supporters and society as a whole.”
The moment was brilliantly done by the club and went to the next level when the boys ran into the arms of Brad who was waiting on the sidelines.

“It’s great to see a smile on his face,” Hawthorn legend Jason Dunstall said.
“The game of AFL and the clubs in particular are very good at rallying around and embracing their own.”
Anna died suddenly of a cardiac arrest with the tragic loss confirmed by Brad on his Instagram account.
“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end. It simply means, I’ll miss you until we meet again. Rest easy my darling #xxx3boys,” Green wrote.
The former flight attendant and fashion designer described herself on Instagram as a “mum of boys, lover of sunshine, palm trees, yoga, beaches, travel, summer, sunsets, cocktails, style”.
Anna and Brad Green, who are both from Tasmania, had grown up together, but only began seeing each other after a chance meeting in 2002.
They were married in 2013, despite Green saying in the middle of his footy career that he already considered himself settled down.
