DAISY Pearce has confirmed her status as the one of the country’s most gifted footballers, after she claimed her seventh best and fairest award on Monday night.

It was the inaugural award for the newly formed Women’s VFL, with a host of marquee players polling well.

Pearce stormed home to finish on 33 votes in what was her fourth consecutive award.

The Darebin midfielder and Melbourne marquee player just edged out St Kilda Sharks defender and Carlton marquee player Brianna Davey, who polled 29 votes.

Melbourne University midfielder and Western Bulldogs marquee player Ellie Blackburn claimed third spot with 23 votes.

Rounding out the top five were Stephanie Chiocci and Katie Brennan.

All five players were named in the VFL Women’s Team of the Year, as were marquee players Moana Hope (Collingwood), Melissa Hickey (Melbourne) and Darcy Vescio (Carlton).
