Jesse Hogan has been reported for elbowing St Kilda’s Jarryn Geary.

MELBOURNE star Jesse Hogan has escaped suspension for a swinging elbow to the face of Saint Jarryn Geary.

But Hogan will be out of pocket after he was one of three players to cop a fine from the match review panel, along with Hawthorn skipper Luke Hodge and Port Adelaide forward Jay Schulz.

There was plenty of niggle between Hogan and Geary throughout the game on Sunday and it boiled over in the last quarter when the defender had hold of the star Demon deep inside Melbourne’s attacking 50.

In response, Hogan carelessly swung his elbow back and struck Geary in the head.

A free kick was immediately paid to the St Kilda defender and umpire Jordan Bannister reported Hogan on the spot.

Geary was able to take his kick and did not leave the field as a result of the incident.

Hodge was fined $1000 for rough conduct after slinging Sydney ruckman Callum Sinclair to the ground at the SCG on Thursday night.

And Schulz was fined the same amount for tripping North Melbourne defender Robbie Tarrant.

Kangaroo Michael Firrito was cleared over a clash with Jarman Impey. The MRP said there was insufficient force in the high contact to justify a report.
