MELBOURNE No. 4 draft pick Jimmy Toumpas has dismissed a possible return home to Adelaide at season’s end as the Demons prepare for aggressive list changes.

Toumpas, 20, has been linked to a trade move after an underwhelming second AFL season, hindered by a serious bout of appendicitis.

But the 18-gamer has told his manager, Justin Reid from Elite Sports Properties, he wants to help lead the club out of the mire.

Toumpas is contracted at Melbourne until the end of next season after the Demons extended his deal in February last year, before he had played a senior game.

The South Australian was considered the best outside midfielder in the 2012 draft class but he has been unable to cement a senior spot this year, averaging 14 possessions in four games.

His first season was restricted by recovery from hip surgery.

The 183cm wingman/forward returned from appendix surgery in the VFL last weekend and is not expected to figure in the Demons’ senior selection frame in the last two rounds.
