MELBOURNE has delisted hard-working rookie James Magner ahead of Thursday's list lodgement deadline.
Magner, 26, played just 19 games in two seasons under Mark Neeld.
He made a swashbuckling debut racking up 23 disposals (including two goals) and 32 possessions in his first two games at AFL level.
Magner was relegated to VFL level for much of last year unable to break into the Demons' best despite putting up good numbers.
Privileged to have played AFL and still think I have something to offer. Thanks to everyone for all the support this year! #lifegoeson

Magner was recruited in the 2011 draft after five seasons in the VFL including stints at Frankston and Sandringham, where he won a best and fairest en route to becoming one of the state league's top midfield prospects.
Melbourne today also upgraded defender Mitch Clisby on the back of further delistings including Rory Taggert and rookie Nathan Stark.
The Demons axed James Sellar, Troy Davis, Tom Gillies, Josh Tynan and rookie Tom Couch soon after the 2013 season.
They joined Aaron Davey, David Rodan and Joel Macdonald who retired.
