‘Unbelievable’: Crows make epic history in AFLW grand final triumph
Footy fans have all been left asking the same question after a disappointing sight during a thrilling AFLW grand final.
Adelaide are premiers of the AFLW for the third time after a history-making grand final win over the Demons on Saturday.
The Crows were too classy after surviving a third-quarter fight back from the Demons and were able to celebrate with a few minutes remaining in a 4.5 (29) to 2.4 (16) win.
They led 2.5 (17) to 1.1 (7) heading into the second half, but were under pressure in the third quarter.
The big moment came when Danielle Ponter kicked the premiership sealer with less than six minutes remaining.

The party started early when Ponter kicked her second goal. The Demons had stayed within striking distance throughout the second half, but their backs were broken when Ponter got in behind the Demons defence and kicked a nice goal from 25m out on the run.

The grand final win is the Crows’ third in the six seasons of the competition.
Former Crows coach and club icon Graham Cornes posted on Twitter it was an “unbelievable” piece of history.
Anne Hatchard was named the best player on the field.
“I feel top of the world, that was just insane to hear that final siren,” Hatchard said on ABC Radio after the game.
“This is the best f***ing feeling ever.”
Crows superstar Erin Phillips let out an emotional roar after the final siren after weeks of speculation surrounding her future.
Phillips elected not to reveal her plans for 2023 after being repeatedly linked with a move to Port Adelaide as the cross-town rival prepares to enter the competition next year.
Fans disappointed by grand final crowd
There was absolutely no reason for fans not to flock to the Adelaide Oval for Saturday’s grand final with the home city producing a glorious sunny day with a top of 28C.
It’s why some fans were disappointed by the number of spectators inside the venue in the first half.
There were also $10 tickets available.
“Where’s the crowd?,” Brisbane forward Jess Wuetschner tweeted.
“Is it capped or something?”
A crowd of 15,000 was predicted. Event managers decided to close the top tiers of the venue after estimating the demand for tickets.
Daisy Pearce’s emotional, cute moment
Demons star Daisy Pearce ran onto the Adelaide Oval alongside her twin toddlers in an adorable moment before the opening bounce.
Pearce is yet to announce her plans for 2023, despite widespread speculation she will retire after the grand final.
