LIONS chairman Angus Johnson has irked the Adelaide Football Club hierarchy - particularly those seated as guests at his pre-game dinner.

Johnson declared Crows key forward Kurt Tippett can enjoy both his life and football more in Brisbane.

The remarks were coupled with Johnson's vow to have the Lions make a determined bid in the trade market to improve coach Michael Voss' list.

Describing the Tippett saga as the "elephant in the room", Johnson reflected on his experiences as a football with Norwood in the SANFL and Southport on the Gold Coast to concluded Brisbane is the better place for "life and football".

Tippett returned to the Crows line-up tonight - against the Lions - after almost a month on the sidelines as he recovered from three bouts of concussion in five weeks.

His future remains in question as the Queenslander considers his options to stay with the Crows, return home to the Gold Coast to join the Suns or become a Lion in Brisbane.
