Kane Cornes takes a brutal swipe at Channel 7 star Cameron Ling on live TV
AFL great Kane Cornes couldn’t stop laughing as he brutally mocked Geelong legend Cameron Ling after going rogue on live TV.
Kane Cornes has taken a cheeky dig at Cameron Ling over his work in the media, as their lighthearted footy “feud” took another twist on Sunday.
Geelong legend Ling, who works as a commentator for Channel 7, recently took a pot shot at Port Adelaide champion Cornes, a panel member on Nine’s Sunday Footy Show, over his views on Sam Walsh.

Carlton took Walsh as the No. 1 draft pick in 2018 but Cornes said the Blues had made a mistake by choosing the durable midfielder over the more flamboyant Connor Rozee, who plays for the Power.
Rozee, like most of his teammates, has struggled this season as Port Adelaide remain winless and Ling hit out at Cornes in an episode of his podcast, The Al and Lingy Show, earlier this month.
“Didn’t he (Cornes) say it was a disgrace that Sam Walsh was picked over Connor Rozee,” he said. “That’s been made to be not even close to being right. Connor hasn’t made that jump yet.’’
Cornes fired back last weekend, suggesting it was the “first time” Ling has ever had an opinion.
“He had a crack, didn’t he. He came after me a little bit, Lingy,” Cornes said.
The Power great took the trolling to new heights at Easter when he dedicated a whole segment to Ling on the Sunday Footy Show. Cornes started with a mock graph since Ling’s entry into the media in 2012, showing it rolling along in a straight line at the bottom, suggesting the Cats icon hadn’t shared an opinion for nearly a decade.
Then the graph spiked in 2022 when Cornes said Ling “had a crack at me”.
Cornes then referenced other opinions Ling has shared recently to explain the graph’s sudden upswing this year.
Ling called the GWS Giants the “junk food” equivalent of an AFL team and said North Melbourne aren’t good enough to play in the traditional blockbuster Good Friday clash, after suffering a 68-point hammering at the hands of the Western Bulldogs.
“There’s a lot of lobbying done behind the scenes to secure this and unfortunately, most people would have switched off at halftime,” Ling told the ABC.
Cornes continued to have a chuckle. “Nothing (no opinions) until 2022 when he had a crack at me!” Cornes said.
“He’s smashed me there on my opinion on Connor Rozee and Sam Walsh, then he’s gone the Giants the week after.
“Then Lingy, on the weekend, said North Melbourne — get rid of it, they can’t have Good Friday football.”
Cornes then rolled a clip of Ling’s cringe-worthy re-enactment of a scene from Grease, saying: “I want more opinion, I want less of this.”
