HAWTHORN vice-captain Jordan Lewis says the Hawks will give underdog Adelaide the utmost respect in Saturday's preliminary final at the MCG.

Lewis is certain to return to the Hawks line-up after missing the qualifying final win over Collingwood with hamstring soreness.

"My body's feeling good," Lewis said. "I obviously had the week off against Collingwood and the boys had a win, so it allowed me to have that extra week.

"I trained all last week and feel really good and ready to go. There are no problems at all."

The Hawks are the short-priced favourites with bookmakers - $1.15 - to advance to their first Grand Final in four years, with the Crows mostly friendless with punters at $5, having scraped past Fremantle by 10 points at home in a semi-final.

But Lewis said was having none of it.

"They're a quality side, they finished second so they've had a fantastic season and really earned the right to play in a prelim final," he said yesterday.

"They showed great character last week ... they were challenged early and their good players stood up when they needed to.

"We'll treat them with the highest respect."

Brent Guerra will definitely miss the clash against the Crows due to a hamstring injury, but Lewis said the experienced defender was doing everything possible to make himself available for the Grand Final - if the Hawks get through.

"He's been really positive," Lewis said. "He's out there running today which is a great recovery and he is giving himself every opportunity to play."
