Jeremy Cameron’s medal ‘stolen’ by a cow as Cats celebrations go wild

Geelong were partying hard after their Grand Final triumph but few were going as strong as Jeremy Cameron in the wee hours of the morning.

Jeremy Cameron’s medal ‘stolen’ by a cow as Cats celebrations go wild

The party has not stopped in Geelong after the Cats ended an 11-year Premiership drought in an 81-point thrashing of the Sydney Swans.

The AFL Grand Final was almost over as soon as it started as the Cats booted six goals in the first quarter and tallied a score it took the Swans three and a half quarters to match.

But while the win turned out to be relatively easy and made the decider an anticlimax as the old Cats flexed their muscle in impressive fashion, the celebrations after the final siren were just as wild as ever as the long season came to an end.

And the players were still going in the wee hours of the morning.

On Channel 7’s Weekend Sunrise, sports reporter Mark Beretta said the players cars were still all in the carpark and it was clear they’d had a big night, having sighted some players early in the morning.

But Jeremy Cameron may well not have had a sleep at all.

Sharing pictures and videos of the celebrations, including drinking from the Cup and the beer still flowing a 4.18am with the caption “might be late tomorrow”.

And there were no signs of it slowing down.

The next video posted to his Instagram was a video inside his barn, where he said: “We’ve done something very silly here.”

Earlier on the morning for the decider, he was back on his farm and he shared some of the new additions to his farm, some new calves.

But after several drinks and hours of celebrations, Cameron had put the medal around one of the calves necks.

“Can I have my medal back,” he said.

“Let him have it for the night, get out there, enjoy it, enjoy it for all of us, I told you I’d be back.”

The video kicked offChannel 9’s Sunday Footy Show and Damien Barratt called it “the best celebration I’ve ever seen”.

Tony Jones said it went up in the hall of fame alongside Carlton captain Stephen Kernahan belting out Tammy Wynetter’s Stand By Your Manafter winning the 1987 VFL premiership.

But it wasn’t over as Cameron was still enjoying the amber liquid at around 7am, sitting next to a Cats branded fire pit.

It was a well deserved pressure valve release after a long season for the Cats and Geelong was going nuts.

Videos flooded social media of fans partying in the streets.

Between 20-30,000 Cats fans are expected to turn to a celebratory family day at St Mary’s Oval on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the City of Greater Geelong confirmed a street parade to celebrate the win, according to the Geelong Advertiser.
