BRISBANE vice-captain Jed Adcock says the Lions have enough depth in their forward line to prosper without the services of Adelaide star Kurt Tippett.

The Lions and the Gold Coast Suns are jostling with the Crows for the Queenslander's signature next year.

But Adcock backed the club's crop of emerging forwards to provide sufficient support to stalwart Jonathan Brown if their bid failed.

"We've got some guys at the moment that are playing some good footy," said 26-year-old Adcock, whose new three-year Lions deal was yesterday confirmed.

"Jordy Lisle's come in and there's (Aaron) Cornelius and (Bryce) Retzlaff, who are both injured at the moment, as well.

"Whatever happens with Tippett is not in our perspective as players."

One of Brisbane's smaller forwards, 19-year-old Josh Green, has also extended his deal by two years, as has midfielder Claye Beams, 20.

"For a guy of his pace and ability to get to ground level, I think Greeny's got really clean hands," Adcock said.

"That's a big help in the forward line when you've got to be running that quick to pick the ball up the way he does.

"He's been a really good find."

Lions football operations manager Dean Warren said the latest signings indicated a strong bond between the young players at the club.

"We're thrilled that Jed, Claye and Josh have all committed to the club with new deals," Warren said.

"We have a group of genuinely talented young players here who will play a huge part in ensuring the club's future success."

Adcock added: "The club's been very good to me and my family over the last nine years and I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.

"I'm really happy that I'll be here for the next few years and hopefully finish my career here a couple of years after that.

"Hopefully we can start winning some more games, move up the ladder and start playing finals footy again."

Beams said being part of the Lions playing group was "fantastic".

"There's a real belief in the group that we're going somewhere and to be a part of that is going to be special," he said. "I've made a lot of close friends up here and it was a pretty easy decision at the end of the day."

Josh Green said: "It's very exciting, I'm really enjoying my time at the club and to get another two years is fantastic.

"It was a very easy decision I didn't even think about leaving."
