Jack Ziebell's back and ready to attack for North Melbourne
JACK Ziebell says he will not compromise his fearless attack on the ball because of his four-game suspension for a hit on Carlton's Aaron Joseph.
NORTH Melbourne midfielder Jack Ziebell says he will not compromise his fearless attack on the ball because of his four-game suspension for a hit on Carlton's Aaron Joseph.
Ziebell, who is available to play Collingwood on Saturday, said he was as "fresh as a daisy" after the ban but insisted he would bring the same fierce approach to future contests.
North will regain Ziebell and small forward Lindsay Thomas from suspension, but the season of midfielder Leigh Adams (shoulder) is over - he will have surgery this week - and Daniel Wells (calf) and Nathan Grima (hamstring tendinitis) are also likely to miss the game.
"I've been brought up to attack the ball ferociously and I think that's one of the strengths of my game," Ziebell said yesterday.
"So if I was to be put in that position again not much would change. And if that leads to me getting into trouble down the track we'll sort it out when that comes."
Ziebell trained at altitude in the US while on hiatus.
"(It's) obviously not a great result - missing a month of footy - but you've got to take the positives out of every situation and I think that going to Utah and getting some more exposure at altitude is probably not a bad thing for me," he said.
"Hopefully that's going to hold me in good stead for the rest of the season.
"I've been doing a fair bit of running, but I think the contact and the bumps (in games) is where you become the most sore.
"Not having that for a month, I'm feeling as fresh as a daisy and I'm jumping out of my skin to get out there."
