BRISBANE young gun Jack Redden says Lions great Simon Black still has plenty to offer in 2013 and is hopeful the triple-premiership star extends his tenure with the club.

Black, 33, has a one-year option with the Lions for next season and Redden said the Brownlow Medallist had not dropped his high standards in 2012.

"I reckon he will be (playing next year). He keeps getting better. I hope he is here next year," Redden said.

"He's a great player, he's a great bloke to have around the club as well. All us young middies (midfielders) learn so much off him.

"Most of the boys are confident that he'll be around next year as well. He keeps kicking and he's doing well. I think his stats are just as good as last year so I don't see him moving out next year."

Meanwhile, South Australian-born Redden said he was also staying at the Gabba, putting to bed speculation that he could be offered as trade bait for out-of-contract Crows forward Kurt Tippett.

"I've heard it all I suppose. I'm pretty happy up here. I'm signed on until the end of 2014 so I'm not moving home anytime soon," he said.

"I'm happy where the club is going. I think there's a bright future here so I'm staying around."
