BRISBANE Lions coach Michael Voss has hinted emerging onballer Jack Redden won't be part of a deal to lure Adelaide's Kurt Tippett.

 Queensland-born forward Tippett has postponed talks with the Crows about his future until season's end amid Brisbane and Gold Coast pitching to recruit him.

South Australian-born Redden, a 74-gamer with the Lions, has been touted as a possible part of any Brisbane-Crows deal.

But Voss, in Adelaide to prepare for today's match against Port Adelaide, said the 21-year-old was vital to Brisbane's future.

"It's crucial that we hold the nucleus of our team together," Voss said.
