JARRYD Roughead has been withdrawn from Hawthorn's clash against Port Adelaide tomorrow.

Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson this morning confirmed the star big man would miss the trip to Launceston because of an ankle issue.

Roughead has shouldered a heavy load this season, playing all but one game in his comeback from a serious achilles injury.

His withdrawal affects 42,268 SuperCoaches (11.2 per cent of all players).

Roughead is averaging 104 points per game since taking up a ruck-forward role for the Hawks this season in the absence of Max Bailey.

It means the Hawks will be without two of its prized talls, Roughead and spearhead Lance Franklin, who will miss his fifth consecutive match with a hamstring injury.

Both are expected to play against Gold Coast at the MCG tomorrow week.
