Ex-AFL star Wayne Carey has been spotted at a pub in Western Australia after his white powder scandal at Crown Casino.

Controversial former AFL star Wayne Carey has returned to Western Australia after he avoided criminal charges over a bag of white powder at Perth’s Crown Casino.

He was spotted speaking at a sporting event on Thursday night at the bar Yours or Mine, in the state’s South West region.

Carey, 51, was photographed with Donnybrook Football Club player Luke Skehan, South Bunbury’s 2016 premiership coach Mark Docking and Bunbury Bulldogs colts coach Troy Hollands.

The bar shared a photo on social media with the caption: “Just a group of good guys talkin’ footy! Awesome night!”

Carey was booted from Crown Casino in September after a zip-lock bag containing a white substance dropped from his pocket onto a gaming room table.

He had been in Perth at the time to cover a Fremantle Dockers versus Western Bulldogs match for Channel 7.

Carey was subsequently stood down from his media duties for Channel 7 and Triple M Footy.

Triple M has since severed ties with Carey and Channel 7 is not renewing his contract for next year, with Carey not involved in the AFL grand final day coverage.

The dual-premiership North Melbourne captain said the powder was “crushed up anti-inflammatories” used to treat football injuries.

Police Commissioner Col Blanch said officers should have been called at the time to deal with the matter.

Crown Resorts chief executive Ciaran Carruthers conceded that should have happened and said the casino policy regarding notifying police had since been changed.

Police this month revealed they would not charge Carey with any offence over the incident.
