More commonly known as Daisy, the number two pick from the 2005 draft, he got the contest started with the opening goal but it was later on in the game when he really stole the show.

A kick into the middle of the ground set Thomas up with the perfect opportunity to fly high and he did not disappoint.

Thomas planted himself on the shoulders of an Oakleigh Krushers opponent and hauled in the hanger.

He landed cleanly on his feet and as soon as he touched down he took off towards goal. Two quick bounces ensued before he launched it inside 50 with a dart onto the chest of a teammate.

The moment was vintage Thomas and quickly spread around social media as it racked up the views.

Thomas was behind the microphone for Triple M on Saturday and spoke about his return while detailing a bizarre first that unfolded during the game.

“It’s the first time I’ve stopped midgame to have a shoey out of my own boot,” he said.

“And then, while standing in the goal-square with the ball 50 metres away, I had a sausage in bread run out to me.”

He was asked about his viral hanger and said he had big ambitions in his head early on in the contest.

“I dropped a speccie early on,” he admitted.

“I kicked the first goal of the game in about the first minute so I was sitting there going, ‘There’s one minute, I’ve got 25-minute flat quarters, I’m on track for a hundred here’.

“But I did slow down a little bit after quarter time .

“There was a really decent crowd that showed up, too, the Oakleigh Krushers faithful on that outer wing were certainly in full voice.”

Thomas was questioned on how his appearance for the team ultimately came about with the 258-game player saying he put it to the club following a heavy defeat.

“You can pretty much call me James Bond, I’m a ‘licence to thrill’ sort of operator,” Thomas said.

He said he offered his services for a Friday night game but “ … I didn’t realise about two weeks later I would get the text”.

“We sang the song at the end and they drenched everyone in chocolate milk which still sort of has that nice lingering smell a day later even post two showers,” Thomas said.

“I got home and Tash (his wife) goes, ‘Did you spew on yourself?”

Thomas’ services proved pivotal as he helped the Wattle Park Animals get over the Oakleigh Krushers 12.11 (83) to 8.6 (54).
