The tribunal will not sit tonight as all players charged by the AFL's Match Review Panel have accepted their sanctions.
Essendon midfielder Heath Hocking has escaped penalty from his head to head confrontation with young Giants player Tomas Bugg.
The AFL match review panel decided Hocking’s contact with his head was below the force required to be a reportable offence.
It was a close shave for the Bomber as even the lowest grading of any charge would have forced him out for at least the next two matches leading to the bye.
Hocking has 81 demerit points hanging over him. And he would have incurred an additional 40 percent points loading for two suspensions last season.
Adelaide midfielder Bernie Vince is in the clear for his high contact to Collingwood’s Jarryd Blair. The MRP decided that video showed Vince had first made contact with the ball in a realistic attempt to knock it away.
Sydney’s Ben McGlynn also avoided any penalty for contact to St Kilda’s Jack Steven after it was decided his bump wasn’t reportable.
Essendon’s David Zaharakis can accept a reprimand for striking Bugg. And Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell doesn’t have a case to answer for contact to Richmond’s Alex Rance.
A large group of North Melbourne and Brisbane players have been hit with fines for a melee at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
