Eagles star apologises for foul-mouthed ‘private’ video

EAGLES veteran Mark LeCras has offered an unreserved apology after the second AFL premiership social media scandal in as many seasons.

AFL players are still learning the hard way about the dangers of posting videos and photographs in “private” message groups.

After Richmond star Nathan Broad was suspended for three games for circulating a photo of a nude woman wearing his medal last season, Eagles veteran Mark LeCras has been caught up in a similar scandal.

LeCras has been forced into an embarrassing backdown after vision of him looking slightly worse-for-wear went public.

“Let me set the scene here,” LeCras says in the video. “Grand final, playing Collingwood, we’re down by five goals ... I think you c**** know what happened.”

The 32-year-old, who has still not confirmed whether he will play on next season, posted an apology to his Instagram page.

“I am extremely embarrassed that a video post using unacceptable language that I sent to a private group has been circulated publicly,” LeCras wrote.

“I unreservedly apologise for the use of that language and any offence it has caused. I take full responsibility for this error.”

LeCras is expected to undergo surgery on the arm he injured earlier this season. If the prognosis is good, the 219-game veteran is expected to play on next season.

Fellow forward Josh Kennedy said it was special sharing the grand final win with LeCras.

“Once that siren sounded I closed my eyes and screamed real loud and I thought, ‘Where’s Lecca?’,” Kennedy said.

“And I opened my eyes and Lecca spear-tackled me to the ground, and we pretty much did everything but kiss on that footy oval. So it was quite a special moment.”
