Demons catch a ride with master cycling coach Charlie Walsh

MELBOURNE sports performance director Neil Craig has brought his controversial mentor from Adelaide, master cycling coach Charlie Walsh, to the Demons.

MELBOURNE sports performance director Neil Craig has brought his controversial mentor from Adelaide, master cycling coach Charlie Walsh, to the Demons.

Midfielder Sam Blease has revealed the Demons are being put through the gruelling cycling sessions that are still contentious for their supposed high-injury count among the Crows during Craig's era at West Lakes.

The bike sessions - immediately removed at Adelaide on the arrival of new coach Brenton Sanderson - have already broken some Demon players.

"Charlie Walsh has come in for the week this week," said Blease on Adelaide radio FIVEaa today.

"And the bins have been close by to the bikes today - it has not been a pretty sight," added Blease who has his bike drills under Walsh tomorrow.

Walsh also was famous in the Craig era at West Lakes for being the bench-side motivator to Crows players as they were interchanged off the field.
