Collingwood staff member resigns after investigation into their behaviour on club trip
A staff member at the AFL’s biggest club has handed in their resignation after an investigation into their behaviour on a club trip.
A Collingwood employee abruptly resigned from the club after an incident occurred on a recent interstate trip.
The Magpies released a statement on Thursday morning, confirming the departure of a staff member who was the subject of a behavioural investigation.
The trip was to the Northern Territory, which was attended by Collingwood’s first-year players from both the men’s and women’s programs.
“Collingwood can confirm that an incident occurred during recent interstate travel that required investigation by the Club,” a Collingwood spokesman said.
“As soon as the Club became aware of the incident, it moved quickly to address the matter and during this process, the employee involved tendered their resignation, which the Club accepted.
“Our focus remains on supporting all team members and ensuring our environments remain professional and consistent with the values we stand for.”
Collingwood posted a series of images from Tennant Creek on its social media during the trip.
“Part of our annual induction for new players, the cultural immersion program focuses on fostering meaningful connection, deepening understanding and working side-by-side with the local community,” a part of the post read.
