An AFL star has left jaws on the floor after producing a minor miracle that had one legend struggling to comprehend what he’d seen.

Charlie Cameron put his hat in the ring for a Socceroos call up.

The Brisbane Lions forward displayed his immense skillset during the first quarter against the GWS Giants on Saturday.

Cameron can do what many others in the league can only dare dream to do, but he took things to unprecented areas on Saturday.

After a kick from Jack Gunston floated through the air and bounced its way towards Cameron, the mercurial forward leapt off the ground and stuck his right leg out.

The ball deflected perfectly off his leg from around 15 metres away from the goal before bouncing straight through the middle of the big sticks.

The score was sent upstairs for review and as replays began to roll it showed off the true absurdity of what he’d just accomplished.

It left those in the commentary booth and fans watching on in utter disbelief as to what they’d just seen unfold.

“That’s goal of the year candidate. That is as skilful. He just let it roll onto his foot, he accepted that it had momentum and he just needed to get a touch. It’s genius,” Garry Lyon said on Fox Footy.

“Oh my goodness,” Dwayne Russell added. “He did it, one hundred per cent.”

Herald Sun’s Tim Michell wrote: “Charlie Cameron has legit just pulled something straight out of the Champions League! What a goal.”

ABC’s Daniel Garb wrote: “What a goal, Charlie Cameron. Goal of the year contender. Like a striker hitting the front post and flicking it home. The skill to do that with an Aussie Rules ball from 15 metres out while jumping up, brilliant.”

Cameron led the charge in front of goal as he equaled a record seven goals at Manuka Oval, leading the Lions to a big victory.

The goal tally puts Cameron alongside former St Kilda superstar Stewart Loewe as the Lions move to 4-2 on the season.

Cameron was unstoppable inside forward 50 as the Giants fell by the wayside looking for ways to stiffle his output.

The Giants dominated the disposal battle on the day, but it mattered little as the Lions capitalised on every opportunity.

Giants star Josh Kelly did everything he could to will his side to victory, finishing with 41 disposals and 618 metres gained.

In front of goal it was Brent Daniels and Xavier O’Halloran who slotted seven goals for the Giants, matching Cameron’s efforts at the other end.

The loss for the Giants drops them to 2-4 on the season and puts them behind the eight ball in the race to make the top eight.
