CARLTON speedster Chris Yarran has agreed to a new two-deal with the club.

Yarran inked the contract extension today, putting an end to concerns cashed-up straggler Greater Western Sydney would lure the 21-year-old half back flanker.

"I'm just rapt to get the deal done and I'm really looking forward to two more exciting years with this club," Yarran told the Carlton website.

"It had been talked about over the past few months and I just wanted to get it done as soon as we could.

"Now that it's done I'm just rapt to be a Carlton Blue for another two years. I love it here and I'm hoping to finish my career as a one-club player."

Yarran is enjoying a rich vein of form in recent weeks after an interrupted start to the season with a turf toe injury.

CARLTON has placed Jeremy Laidler (knee) and Shaun Hampson (knee) on its long-term injury list and in doing so promoted rookies Levi Casboult and Tom Bell.

Casboult and Bell's inclusion on the senior list opens the door for the youngsters to make their AFL debuts in the coming weeks.
