Bulldogs star Bailey Smith gives it to ‘scary’ spectator
Bulldogs star Bailey Smith has revealed details about his banter with a supporter he wouldn’t “want to meet on the streets”.
Bailey Smith says it was all just a bit of fun as he exchanged some nods and winks with a spectator at the MCG during the Western Bulldogs’ big win over Collingwood.
Smith had a monster game with 41 touches as the Dogs cruised to a 48-point win in a game that was overshadowed by another “ridiculous” incident surrounding the new umpire “dissent” rule interpretation changes.

Smith was also seen chuckling as a result of a sledge from a Collingwood fan as he lined up for goal near the boundary from outside the 50m arc in the second quarter.
A grinning Smith responded by sticking his tongue out towards his heckler.
Replays on Fox Footy showed the fan giving Smith a gobful which left the spectators sitting near him giggling.
Smih spoke about the moment in the sheds after the game where he appeared to reveal the fan’s sledge was about “the Gold Coast”.
Smith was last year involved in an incident on the Glitter Strip which resulted in a man filing an official complaint with police. Police ultimately dismissed the complaint and the club did not take any disciplinary action against Smith.
Smith was still smiling about the interaction with the fan after the game, poking fun of the tattooed supporter.
“I don’t want to see him in the streets. He looked like a scary boy,” Smith told Channel 7 with a laugh.
“But I love that interaction with the crowd.”
When asked what the fan said, Smith responded: “I don’t think you want to know. He was just having a crack. It’s nice. It was about the Gold Coast. Had a bit of fun up there, but there you go. It’s all good fun.”
Seven commentator Matthew Richardson described Smith’s tongue wiggle as a “Gene Simmons” move. He also referenced the Kiss front man when he described the fan’s facial tattoo as “Gene Simmons face paint”.
Smith also revealed another hilarious moment during the game when former teammate Patrick Lipinksi pulled off one of the oldest tricks in the book.
Smith still describes Lipinski as one of his best mates, despite him being traded to Collingwood last year.
Smith said on Friday night he had coughed the ball up to Lipinski on instinct when the Magpies star called for him to pass it.
“It was exciting to play against Pat Lipinski, he’s one of my best mates,” Smith said.
“There was actually a point in the third quarter where he called for the ball and I had it and I handballed it straight to him. And I was like, ‘Oh, mate’.
“I’ve missed playing with him but obviously it’s good to see him doing his thing at Collingwood.”
