The pair have hosted Triple M’s The Rush Hour for the past 11 years and are currently in the 6-7pm timeslot.

But they will now double the length of the show, between 4pm and 6pm on the network.

It comes at the perfect time for Brownless after he announced he was walking away from the Sunday Footy Showafter 27 years on TV.

Brayshaw told the Herald Sun that it had been “an 11 year show based on nothing”.

“When Bill and I started The Rush Hour in 2010 we had no idea what the show was going to be about – we still have no idea 11 years later,” he said.

“Bill’s got properly ahead of himself in recent times, when we start early next year I’m going to have to pull him back into line.”

Just under a fortnight ago, Molloy announced that he was hanging up his microphone at the end of the ratings year after 11 years at the station.

Molloy cited his wish to pursue further creative endeavours as his reason for leaving, thanking the station for being his “spiritual home” and reassuring fans it wouldn’t be the last time they heard his dulcet tones on the airwaves.

“After 11 amazing years at Triple M I’ve decided it’s time to move on to a new chapter in my working life,” he told listeners when announcing his shock exit.

“It just feels the time is right to explore some exciting new creative opportunities that are presenting themselves for the years ahead. It’s not without a small degree of sadness to know I’m leaving my spiritual home … after all this time but I’m genuinely proud of what we’ve achieved here and excited about what lays ahead for me.”
