Barry Hall caught punching opposition player in Queensland AFL grand final
FORMER AFL bad boy Barry Hall has been caught in another damning brain snap on the field in a chilling grand final spat.
BIG bad Barry is at it again.
Shocking footage has emerged from last weekend’s Queensland AFL grand ginal showing former Sydney Swans forward Barry Hall landing a blow on a defender as he attempted to break away from his grasp.
Hall, who was playing for Labrador against Plam Beach-Currumbin, turned around and punched the opposition player in the jaw, immediately sending him to the deck.
The crowd let out a horrified yell as the incident occurred — but it was far from over yet.
Hall was confronted by another player after the incident and was immediately pushed to the deck by the 40-year-old. Players avoided starting a blue with Hall as umpires intervened.
SEN host and former AFL star David Schwarz ripped into Hall for the damning brain snap. “Dog’s act. It’s a shocking look,” he said.
“He’d be embarrassed by that,” Mark Allen replied.
The first hit looked almost identical to the towering forward’s chilling hit to knock out West Coast’s Brent Staker in 2008.
Hall joked before the match his opponents were planning to get him sent off the field in his last game.
“I’ve heard some rumours they’re going to try and get me sent off somehow,” he told SEN radio. “There could be Alastair Lynch style exit to my career.”
Hall’s damning blow came just three months after appearing on the Footy Show with Staker to address their uncomfortable past.
Barry Hall believes his punch on Brent Staker could have caused more serious damage than it did. Full interview on #9AFLFootyShow 8.30pm pic.twitter.com/pwu4EBTAqu
