Video: Lion Jamie Stanton collected by Demon Richelle Cranston during AFLW clash in potential MRP incident
WILL this be the AFLW’s first Match Review Panel incident? A big hit from Demon Richelle ‘Rocky’ Cranston has drawn scrutiny.
THE AFLW could see its first Match Review Panel incident after a big hit in Melbourne’s clash with the Brisbane Lions on Sunday afternoon.
The first-quarter crunch involved former gridiron player and AFLW Demon Richelle ‘Rocky’ Cranston and Brisbane Lion Jamie Stanton.
As Stanton went to ground trying to collect the ball, Cranston stormed in at full speed. She collected her opponent’s head with her hip sending both players tumbling to the ground.
Stanton remained on the ground and was checked on by Lions trainers before being helped off while clutching her right arm.
“There’s no doubt they (the Match Review Panel) will have a look at that,” Fox Footy commentator Danny Frawley said.
Surely we have our first report/MRP in the @aflwomens #Aflwdeeslions
