Premier Adelaide to meet Brisbane first-up in AFLW grand final rematch

INAUGURAL AFL Women’s League premier Adelaide will start the defence of its title with a grand final rematch against the Brisbane Lions at Norwood Oval on Saturday, February 3.
The Crows, who beat the Lions by six points in a grand final thriller at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast in March, will play three home games in Adelaide next season and one in Darwin.
All of their SA matches will be played at The Parade — against Brisbane, the Western Bulldogs in round three on February 17 and Carlton in round five on March 3.
Last season Adelaide played two home games at Thebarton Oval and one at Norwood.
The Crows’ Darwin clash is against Fremantle in round six at TIO Stadium on March 9.
The Adelaide team is in partnership with AFLNT.
The Crows will play in Melbourne twice during the regular season — against Melbourne at Casey Fields in round two on February 10 and Collingwood at Olynpic Park in round seven on March 18.
Adelaide’s other away game is a Sunday twilight encounter against Greater Western Sydney at Blacktown in round four.
Season two of the AFLW will follow the same structure as this year with seven home-and-away matches and a grand final between the top two sides.
This is scheduled for March 24.
Carlton and Collingwood will open the season on Friday, February 2 at Ikon Park.
The Crows, who will begin pre-season training on November 20, will play a trial match in Darwin on January 13.
