VICTORIA Park is unlikely to host future Collingwood AFLW matches as Ikon Park won out as the best option for Saturday night’s clash between the Magpies and Demons.
The Round 2 game has been moved from Olympic Park because of the stadium’s limiting 5000-person capacity.
Victoria Park, which has an estimated capacity of 5000-7000, was considered with the AFL visiting the site this week.

The small increase in capacity compared to Olympic Park and limited facilities meant Ikon Park, which held 24,500 people on Friday night, was the best option.
Collingwood is due to host Adelaide and GWS in their remaining Olympic Park fixtures.
“Safety, spectator comfort and making matches as accessible as possible will feature in any discussions with the AFL about where the last two Collingwood AFLW home matches might be played,” Pies chief executive Gary Pert said.
“Collingwood’s spiritual home, Victoria Park, has appeal but there are some logistical limitations. It is more likely that the final two games will be played at the (Olympic Park).”
Saturday will be the AFLW’s first double-header with Carlton hosting GWS at Ikon Park at 3.35pm, followed by Magpies v Demons at 7.40pm.
Carlton is hosting its family day on the Princes Park northern lawn before the Blues’ match.
Extra trams and buses will run from Flinders St to the ground from an hour before the first game.
